European Maritime Pilots' Association (EMPA)
had the honour of participating in the Praticagem do Brasil - Brazilian Pilots' Association 47th National Pilotage Meeting, held at the Casa Grande Hotel in Guarujá (SP), represented by our President Miguel Vieira de Castro.

An extremely well organised event that brought together experts and leaders to discuss key topics such as:

* Mental health and well-being for professionals
* The current Brazilian economic outlook
* Pilotage models in Uruguay and Argentina
* Sustainability and emission inventories on pilotage organisations
* New PPU technology
* Brazilian Pilotage Institute overview
* How to overcome challenges in extreme environments

In European Maritime Pilots' Association (EMPA) presentation, “Safety, Security and Sustainability in Ports – EMPA’s Collaborative Approach”, we've emphasised our work and aims in terms of safety, security, digitalisation, sustainability and behavioural change including our participation on GREENPORT Alliances.

This event highlighted the importance of international cooperation to ensure safe, efficient and environmentally responsible pilotage services.

Congratulations to Praticagem do Brasil for the excellent organisation and thank you for the invitation to contribute to such an important discussion for the maritime sector!
